About KYB

KYB, originally called KaYaba Research Center, was founded in Japan in 1919 by Shiro Kayaba. After having established itself in the market for hydraulic dampers, the company became known as Kayaba Manufacturing Co. Kayaba had steady growth over the years and in 1959 was listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

The company's name was officially changed to KYB in 2005 and they are now one of the world's largest manufacturers of OEM shock absorbers as well as producing all the conceivable spare parts.

KYB's products are sold in over 100 countries and they have the largest shock absorber producing facility in the world, located in Gifu, Japan. KYB also manufactures in the United States and Europe, with annual production capacity of more than 75 million shock absorbers.

As well as their OEM fitment forks and shock absorbers, KYB also have a wide range of aftermarket fork upgrades and shock absorbers for both on and off-road applications. Their Factory forks and shock absorbers are very well respected products in the aftermarket suspension world and are used by championship winning teams.
